There are several whitewater rafting guidebooks with information about river trips in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. These include:

The Rogue river is jointly managed by the BLM and US Forest Service. Contact BLM Office at Rand Ranger Station for permits and information: River Permits Office, 14335 Galice Rd, Merlin, OR 97532. (541) 479-3735.

Permits are required from May 15 - October 15 from Grave Creek to Foster Bar. Lottery applications are accepted January 1 through mid-February.

The Rogue runs through the rugged coastal mountains of Southern Oregon with generally mild weather year-round. From late May through June, and September, the temperatures are usually in the 70's and 80's during the day. In July and August the days are often in the 90's. Rain can happen at any time, always bring rain gear and a tent.
